About The Infinite Canvas
The Infinite Canvas is a experiment a collective art project and an
experiment in international culture. It is a virtual canvas that
anyone may draw on. The canvas is practically infinite in scope.
You can explore the canvas by zooming in or out almost
indefinitely. Zoom in on a single pixel far enough, and there could
be a masterpiece hidden within its boundaries. Zoom out far enough,
and you might discover that the expansive terrain you were exploring
was only a mote in a much larger work.
How to Use It
You must have Mozilla or another HTML 5 compliant browser to use
the Infinite Canvas*. You'll be dropped somewhere random on the
Canvas where there's already some drawing. Use the tools at the top to
move around and zoom in or out. Then select a color and start drawing!
Click the save icon at the top at any time to commit your drawing to
the Canvas for others to discover.
You can save a location on the Canvas with the value at the bottom
of the page. Use this value by putting it back in the text box and
clicking "Go!" (or just save the resulting URL).
* Currently, I don't support any browser other than
Mozilla (I've only tested it on my copy, and I know it doesn't work in
IE). If the "Status" never changes to "Done", it's probably broken for
you. Tell me, so I can fix it-- and include what browser you're
using. Thanks!
